Simply having someone be witness to your story, however that story gets shared, is a powerful experience.
No advice giving, no judgment, no commentary … no need to even understand.
Just someone to be fully present, to hold the space for you, to be there with an open, empathetic heart. This, in our often busy, critical, over-stimulated world, is an incredible gift.
Interestingly, there is a sense of sacred privilege in being the witness as much as there is in the experience of being witnessed. And last Friday, a particularly exhausting day for me, I really experienced that power and privilege.
Thank you to those who held space for me.
Thank you to those who let me hold space for you.
