community art dates

My oh my how the world keeps sending me down such interesting deep dives related to creativity and meaning and wellness and community.

Yesterday it was a podcast affirming my thoughts on the importance of community. Two days before I rediscovered a video link I had saved about neuroscience and how the brain adjusts. Today it’s a FB thread about art and how it touches us. Each person is sharing their own thoughts, sometimes adding an article that has me so excited to explore…but I’m supposed to be doing x and y! I need a reading/listening vacation.

All I want to say right now is that I am becoming more and more convinced of the importance of creativity as a means of enhancing self connection, acceptance and overall wellness. And that there is definitely power and support in practicing creative explorations in the company of others… at least once in awhile.

If you agree or want to try it out, maybe you too would enjoy creating alongside some virtual company. If so join our Community Art Date this Sunday.

Community Art Date

Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 3 – 5 pm (EST)

In the Before Times I would host community art dates here in my barn, Rendezvous Rupert. Now I’ve begun to offer them online. It pretty much works the same way except that now you can turn off your mic and us and play your own brand of music or silence. 🙂

Here’s the idea:

We start off by checking in, maybe saying something about what we plan to do.

Everyone brings their own project or gets inspiration from what they see others are playing with. It might be centered around writing, art making, music, dancing or simply pausing to visit your imagination.

Some people keep their cameras and mics on, at least for the first while, chatting a bit while we mess around and settle in with our individual projects. Gradually things get quiet and focused, mics get turned off, sometimes cameras too. You can still feel a kind of relaxed buzz though.

I call people back for the last 15 minutes or so to share if so desired and checkout.

Contact me if you would like the zoom link. It’s free.

If you are a Facebook user, please see (and share!) the post.

I hope to see you this Sunday!

Whether your join us or not, it would be great to hear that you made time that nurtured and attended to your creative self.

To your health and creativity!

Linda

PS Our arts based self-care practice sessions continue to run on Sunday from 10 – 11:30 AM (EST). See more about it on this page. Contact Linda for the link.
